June 26, 2015....The Balsams Resort New Hampshire Roadside Viewing Guide (Bottom page 268) The State of New Hampshire has approved a 28 million dollar loan for restoration of the resort. Work is scheduled to start late in 2015. Whether it will be completed by the summer of 2016 is conjecture. The Wilderness Ski area may open prior to completion of the renovation. Meanwhile the approach road to the Panorama Golf Course is closed at both ends. Hiking to it technically consitutes trespassing on business property. It is suggested that if you wish to visit the golf course for the view, find a caretaker staff member on site and mention your desires.
